The Tidewater

Address: 407 N 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA

Architect: Coscia Moos Architecture

Owner: Alterra Property Group

Project: This is a historical concrete building structure containing empty grain silos at the building’s midsection. The first two floors of the structure have been renovated for commercial use. The grain silos remain in place and apartments have been constructed in the space above the silos.

From the top of the structure, you can see from the Philadelphia Art Museum to the Ben Franklin Bridge. We did a lot of renovations to update the upper levels. We needed to replace wood framing, create an additional floor and new entrances from the stair towers. The penthouse level was split up into multiple units with updated greenhouse spaces.

This project required a lot of unique details to alter the existing structure.
